Latvian-Ukrainian textbook for children published

Take note – story published 1 year ago

On June 3, at the Ukrainian community center Common Ground in Andrejsala, a new bilingual Latvian-Ukranian primer textbook will be presented, said publisher Droši un Koši.

The illustrated bilingual primer is designed to help children navigate two different writings. The aim of the book is to show correspondence between the Latvian and Ukrainian alphabetical letters. The book, therefore, contains both the Latvian and Ukrainian alphabetical, as well as short interpretative information for its users. Each letter in this alphabet is illustrated by an image to ensure an associative perception.

The book is a charity project and will be given to Ukrainian children of pre-school and primary school age. 4,000 copies of the book are supported by Ziedot.lv, Arctic Paper Baltic States, and Jelgava typography.

The book's patron is Latvia's first lady, Andra Levite. Ukraine's ambassador to Latvia Oleksandr Mishchenko will also participate in the opening at Common Ground, June 3 at 16:00.
