In their second match at this year's European Women's Basketball Championship (EuroBasket) June 16, the Latvian national women's basketball team lost to Greece 65:73.

As previously reported, Latvia opened the tournament on Thursday with a 67:63 win over Spain. Meanwhile, Montenegro defeated Greece 74:69.

Latvia will conclude the group stage on Sunday against Montenegro with a win sure to keep their tournament alive.

The winner of the group will automatically advance to the tournament's quarterfinals, while the teams placing second and third will compete in a playoff round.

This is the 10th EuroBasket that Latvia is competing in, with the best result achieved in 2007, when Latvia finished in fourth place.

The winners of the four groups will immediately enter the quarter-finals, while the teams that do not finish last in the group will continue the tournament in the first round of elimination. The European champions will be decided on June 25 in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.

Tel Aviv is co-hosting this year's EuroBasket together with the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.
