Latvia were on the receiving end of a 1:8 thrashing, with a powerful Finnish side scoring almost at will. Latvia's only goal came when they were already 0:8 down in the 52nd minute.
"We have to come back stronger and learn from our mistakes," said scorer Rihards Bukarts after the game.
A chance to do so will come almost immediately with a match against South Korea May 8.
