Harijs Vītoliņš has extended his agreement with the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) regarding further work with the Latvian national team. The agreement with Vitolins was signed for two years, according to a statement from the federation.

"We did something special in the last championship. The emotion that we provided to the entire nation of Latvia was indescribable. I would like to thank the LHF leadership very much for their trust and successful cooperation. However, this is just the beginning. We're going on!” Vītoliņš said after the signing of the contract.

Vītoliņš started work at the helm of the Latvian national team in the summer of 2021. At this year's World Championships in Tampere and Rīga, the Latvian team entered the semi-finals for the first time in history and won bronze medals. This is the best achievement of Latvia at the World Championships of all time.

Latvia's hockey team will take up its first training and games in the upcoming season in November.
