The postage stamp is illustrated with the 2017 French Open winner holding the cup. Its issue paper also lists her biggest 2017 successes.
"I know it's a great and unique honor to have my own postage stamp," the tennis player said, according to a Latvian Post release.
Latvian Post boss Mārcis Vilcāns said he's glad to have Ostapenko as a front-runner in a postage stamp series dedicated to excelling Latvian sports people.
Kristaps Porziņģis, who's showing a stellar performance in what's his third season at the NBA, may be an obvious next candidate for his own postage stamp. Anastasija Sevastova, another Latvian tennis player (WTA rank 16), may also be featured.
Ostapenko will appear on 50,000 postage stamps, worth €1.42, and also an envelope with 1,500 issues.
