Legendary Latvian actress Lilita Ozoliņa dies

The actress Lilita Ozoliņa (19.11.1947–05.06.2023.) passed away on June 5, the Dailes Theater said.

The theater pointed out that the actress's talent and intelligence had been building the theater for more than half a century. Ozoliņa worked at the theater since 1966 and her legend has “become an integral part of Daile.”

“Her work was brilliant, so subtle and deep. An extremely painful loss to the Theater, the Latvian theater and the art of world cinema. We both collectively and personally for each. The loss is unexpected,” said the announcement of the Dailes Theater.

Lilita Ozoliņa reached a wider audience in her great film roles, such as Ceplis (1972), Ezera sonāte (1976), Ilgais ceļš kāpās (1981), Maija un Paija (1990) and many others.

Our condolences to Ozoliņa's family, friends, colleagues and admirers.
