Ausma Kantāne-Ziedone was an actress at the Dailes Theater, teacher at the Riga Cathedral Choir School, former Member of the 8th and 9th Saeima. She was married to the legendary Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis.
For her work of public importance, Kantāne-Ziedone had received various awards and decorations, including the highest Latvian State decoration, the Order of the Three Stars.
