Swedbank Baltics named most valuable company in Latvia

Swedbank Baltics JSC has been named the most valuable company in the country for the second year in a row, the ranking's creators Nasdaq Riga and Prudentia said November 2.

The value of Swedbank Baltics is estimated at €3.397 billion, which is 7% more than a year earlier when the value of the company was estimated at €3.167 billion.

Latvenergo, a long-time leader, was recognized as the second most valuable company in Latvia, its value estimated at €2.912 billion. Latvijas Valsts Meži (Latvian State Forests) ranked third.

This is shown in the annual rankings produced by consultancy Prudentia and market operator Nasdaq Riga since 2005.

This year's biggest rise is recorded by the state-owned AS “AirBaltic Corporation”, which has managed to grow its value of EUR 299.82 million by 115% this year.

The top 101 has 16 new entrants worth a total of €1.267 billion. The most valuable newcomer, AS “Discover Car Hire,” accounts for 11% of the total value of newcomers.
