The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK) repeatedly calls for the lifting of the tough Covid-19 restrictions in Latvia as soon as possible, allowing all sectors to work full and allowing the economy to recover, the LTRK said in a statement February 10.

The LTRK stated that they encourage “to immediately abolish the use of Covid-19 certificates and compulsory vaccination for employees; and closed industries should also be allowed to work by giving the right to each company to monitor compliance with epidemiological safety rules among employees and customers.”

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “if the tough restrictions are not lifted as soon as possible, both economic recovery and Latvia's competitiveness are facing a serious threat.”

The LTRK said that both labor and goods and services customers are fleeing to neighboring countries, causing losses for entrepreneurs and the economic growth gap between the Baltic States.
