The major Rīga shopping mall “Akropole” said around 60 of its 170 stores will remain open during the three-week 'quiet period' announced by the government in an attempt to reduce contact between individuals and stem the spread of COVID-19.

"In this period around 60 stores will be open in “Akropole”, including the delivery of goods purchased through e-commerce and distance shopping. Among the stores that will be open until 11 January are Euronics, Zara (for collection of pre-ordered goods only), Dino Zoo, 220.lv, Biotēka, iDeal, Samsung, L’occitane, Fielmann, Drogas, Burger King and many others," Akropole said via a press release.

Most stores will work in accordance with the regular working hours of the shopping center, but certain store working hours can differ, therefore customers are encouraged to contact the information centre or check the official website for more details.

“For the safety and health of ourselves and our loved ones, we encourage you to be more tolerant and respect the restrictions set by the government, as well as to only go to the store when really needed. We have taken many measures to ensure that your visit at “Akropole” is as safe as possible,” said Zane Kaktiņa, manager of the mall.
