The average cost of forest restoration was from 792 to 931 euros per hectare, an increase of from 2.5%-12.4%, according to the data compiled by the CSB. For comparison, in 2021, the costs ranged from 742 to 890 euros per hectare, and a year earlier from 764 to 823 euros.

The total average increase in the costs of forest restoration and maintenance is made up of the increase in labor costs, the price of forest seedlings, as well as mechanized forest planting, where the unit costs are higher than when planting a forest without mechanization.
In 2022, the average logging costs of one cubic meter of wood increased in comparison to 2021, both in main felling and intermediate felling. In main felling, compared to 2021, the costs increased by 31.0% and were 24.3 euros per cubic meter. In intermediate cutting (maintenance, reconstructive, sanitary) costs compared to 2021 increased by 22.4%, reaching 28.2 euros per cubic meter. The total cost of logging in the main felling and intermediate felling consists of labor, transport and applied equipment costs.
