Slight surplus in Latvia's tax revenues in 2023 so far

In the first five months of this year, €5.387 billion was collected in tax revenues which is €166.4 million, or 3.2% more than expected, the Finance Ministry's representatives told LETA July 3.

Tax revenue in the first five months of 2023 was €600.9 million, or 12.6% higher than in the first five months of 2022.

In the first five months of 2023, the most tax revenue was collected from social security contributions at €1.913 billion, which is 0.2% less than planned.

Value added tax (VAT) revenue was €1.642 billion in the first five months of this year, 5% more than expected, while income tax revenue generated €870.7 million, which is 2.8% more than expected.

A total of €13.058 billion is expected to be collected in taxes in 2023.
