Turnover of retail trade in food products declined by 0.8 %. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) increased by 4.8 %, but the turnover of retail sales of automotive fuel – by 2.9 %.
As compared to February 2022, the most significant turnover growth was registered in the retail sale of clothing, footwear, and leather goods (21.0 %), retail sale of hardware, instruments, construction materials, and sanitary equipment (12.6 %), and retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialized stores (10.8 %). A turnover drop was registered in retail sales in non-specialized stores selling mainly non-food products (of 8.8 %), retail sales via mail order houses or the Internet (6.8 %), and retail sales of electrical household appliances in specialized stores (3.8 %).
Total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 17.5 % (not taking into account the calendar influence).
Compared to January, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in February 2023 rose by 0.4 %, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Turnover of retail trade in food products grew by 1.7%. Retail trade in non-food products (except for the retail sales of automotive fuel) increased by 1.3 %, but the turnover of retail sales of automotive fuel reduced by 4.1 %.
As compared to the previous month, the significant turnover increase was registered in the retail sale of clothing, footwear, and leather goods (11.4 %), retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialized stores (3.3 %), and retail sale of cosmetics and toiletries (2.2 %). The largest turnover drop was registered in retail sales via mail-order houses or via the Internet (of 8.9 %), retail sale of electrical household appliances in specialized stores (5.2 %), and retail sales in stalls or markets (4.9 %).
Compared to January, in February 2023 the total retail trade turnover at current prices (not taking into account seasonality) decreased by 3.8 %.
