The Latvian economy has grown by 1.2% in the second quarter, in comparison with Q1. It's the highest growth among the EU countries on which information is available, according to the latest Eurostat data.
Closely following is Malta, the GDP of which has grown by 1.1% quarterly, while the Czech Republic, Spain, and Sweden saw a GDP growth of 1%.
Lithuania and Estonia posted a result of 0.7%.
Latvia's yearly GDP growth sits at 2.7%, which is the seventh best result in the EU.
Before, the Bank of Latvia announced that this year's GDP growth will be greater than anticipated, though it is predicted to slow down next year.
