Take note – story published 1 year ago

Starting on July 31, trains from Rīga to Liepāja will start running every day, the Public Transport Council decided on Friday, July 14. Until now, trains between the two cities have been running twice a week and have often been full.

The train will leave Liepāja shortly before 5 a.m. and arrive in the capital after 8. The train will go back to Liepāja shortly before 18:30 and be in Liepāja closer to 22:00. On Sundays there will be two trains between the two cities.

Currently, the train travels between the two cities only twice a week, from Rīga on Friday and Sunday, and from Liepāja on Saturday and Sunday.

The latest statistics show that more than 2.6 thousand passengers have been transported between the two cities in May this year and nearly three thousand in June. In July, there might be even more. The Friday night train from Rīga to Liepāja is usually nearly 100% full.
