Ten years ago, on July 21, 2013, the Latvian U20-national-basketball team was very close to winning the Junior European Championship – but then Amadeo Della Valle changed everything. The Italian player took the initiative and scored the win in the last five minutes of the game. His great success in the end was the kickoff for his professional career as a basketball player, he even was picked as MVP (most valuable player) of the tournament.
For the Latvian Radio podcast, Amadeo Della Valle came to Rīga for the first time. LR talked to him about how the game ten years ago still affects him, what he remembers most from the tournament, and what he thinks about the Latvian basketball team.
