Būris: What will our future foods look and taste like?

Europeans are quite open to new taste experiences when traveling to other continents. But will our food-related future depend upon the adoption of new and sometimes unusual sources of nutrition with some high-intensity farming methods seen as environmentally damaging and unsustainable?

That is at the center of the latest 'Būris' (Cage) discussion led in Brussels by LTV correspondent Ilze Nagla.

This week she is joined by MEPs Esther de Lange from the Netherlands (Group of the European People's Party) and Assita Kanko from Belgium (European Conservatives and Reformists Group).

The Brussels discussions in English are bolstered by local Latvian-language debates on related issues. You can see the list of topics that will be covered at the dedicated Būris web page on LSM. These include animal welfare, multiculturalism, euthanasia, and other controversial themes. 

The Būris ('Cage') project is co-financed by the European Union.
