Latvian medical staff appeal to public to stay at home

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Medical staff at one of Latvia's main hospitals have made a powerful video urging members of the public to adopt a socially responsible attitude and stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak.

Titled #PaliecMājās or 'Stay at home', the video features doctors, nurses and other hospital support staff of Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital stressing the importance of staying at home, taking it in turns to deliver a section of a monologue as they stand, suitably spaced apart from each other, inside the hospital.

"If you stay at home, we will be saving lives all together," they urge, "Please do your bit so we can do our work."

"Medics are one of the highest-risk groups... you can help to save our lives, so we can help save yours," they say.

At the end of the video the hospital tannoy sounds and they return to their duties. You can watch the video above.
