Latvia offers condolences to New Zealand over mosque massacres

Officials in Latvia were among world leaders offering condolences and support to New Zealand March 15 in the wake of mass shootings in New Zealand which have claimed at least 49 lives.

President Raimonds Vējonis offered "deepest condolences" to the people of New Zealand.

Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš followed suit.

Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs added his voice to the well-wishers, too, saying he was "shocked and saddened" by the events.
