3 Seas Summit in Vilnius Thursday

Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs will be making the short trip to Vilnius, Lithuania April 11 to participate in the annual Three Seas Summit.

The Three Seas Initiative (3SI) of which the summit forms a part is an attempt to improve transport, energy and digital infrastructure connections on the EU’s north-south axis, and to stimulate business. To improve regional connectivity and accelerate investments in infrastructure projects, a 3SI Investment Fund was set up in 2019. Rīga played host to the same event in 2022.

According to the event schedule, President Rinkēvičs and the other heads of delegations will participate in discussions from 14:30 to 17:00, have a press conference 17:00-17:30 and then enjoy an official dinner 18:00-20:00 hosted by the President of Lithuania.

Transport Minister Kaspars Briškens will also be in Vilnius, participating in an afternoon panel on 'transport transformation' at the parallel business forum.
