Latvian President Egils Levits played host to his counterparts from Estonia and Lithuania at Rīga Castle December 17.

President Kersti Kaljulaid of Estonia and Gitanas Nauseda of Lithuania held round-table discussions following up on the recent NATO summit meeting in London, then wandered across to lend their support to the Dod Pieci charity marathon.

The video below shows the presidential trio taking to the airwaves (partly in English) and choosing their own songs.

President Egils Levits - a former judge - chose the song "Taisnība" ("Justice") by the band Zodiac.

President Kersti Kaljulaid chose the Estonian song "Jõuluingel" ("Angel of Christmas") by Estonian composer Olav Ehala, explaining: "This song be a greeting for all those in the Baltic states who are ready not only at Christmas time but all through the year to play angels to other people's dreams. ”

Meanwhile the Lithuanian head of state Gitanas Nauseda  said: “The song I chose is "In the Middle of Europe" ("Europos Vidury") and it's about my country, it's about family and it's about love...  and iit could be applicable to Estonia and Latvia too, because I think in this song Lithuania is not named."
