Four more officials punished in army rations case

The Ministry of Defence (AM) has decided to penalize another four responsible officials for violations in the procurement of army food, the Ministry told LETA on August 15.

The four responsible persons have been punished by disciplinary action – withholding the monthly salary for a specified period of time. The amount of the penalty differed according to the gravity of the infringement committed.

In the context of the procurement of logistical services for army food supply, the head of the procurement commission Ēriks Ezeriņņš and Chief of Procurement and Contract Division of the National Armed Forces Security Command Headquarters, Imants Freibergs, have been dismissed. It was also decided not to extend the professional service contract with one NBS representative.

Two defense industry officials have been reprimanded.

The Head of the Commission is the Director of the State Chancellery, Jānis Citskovskis.
