DPD Latvia delivery service warns about fraud websites

Take note – story published 3 years ago

DPD Latvia delivery service draws attention to a new fraud scheme and warns about fraudsters attempting to obtain  card data on behalf of the company, DPD said  January 27.

The company said that a number of fraudulent cases were recorded where, via a false Internet site that supposedly resembles a company's home page, fraudsters call on residents to provide payment card data on Internet purchase. DPD Latvia does not offer this kind of service on the Internet and calls on the public to be careful, and to immediately turn to the State Police when faced with attempted fraud.

The fraud scheme in question uses a number of false websites, such as “en-express-safe.xyz”, “lvdpd-safe.xyz”, which have no relation to DPD Latvia.

In connection with the fraud cases identified, the company has already contacted the Information Technology Safety Incident Prevention Authority “Cert.lv” for further prevention of fraudulent practices.
