The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the social network X that it urges people to avoid traveling to Russia and, if there already, to leave the country in view of the tense security situation and unpredictable domestic political developments.

"We urge Latvian citizens who are in Russia to exercise caution and avoid mass gatherings as, according to information provided by the US Embassy in Moscow, terrorist attacks are possible in Moscow in the next 48 hours," the statement on the Foreign Ministry's website reads.

The US Embassy in Russia issued a warning on its website.

The statement did not provide further details on possible terrorist attacks in Moscow.
