55 people deterred from crossing Latvia-Belarus border

On Wednesday, January 19, the border guard prevented 55 people from crossing the Latvian-Belarusian border.

Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 4,960 persons from crossing the border.

No persons were detained having crossed the border illegally.

Since the announcement of the state of the emergency, 109 people have been allowed to cross the border citing humanitarian reasons.
