The Rīga-based NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) returns with a new series of online discussions January 13, with the first one focussing on China.

"Increasingly, there have been concerns on China exerting influence around the world, including Europe, and their levers. This webinar will explore a couple of these areas - economic and technology," say the organizers, adding that they hope to "provide a broader understanding and context. We will discuss how China uses economics and technology with a Strategic Communications focus."

Speakers will be Dr Matt Ferchen, Head of Global China Research at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), and Dr Rogier Creemers, University Lecturer Modern China Studies, Leiden University, with the whole thing moderated by leading journalist Olga Dragiļeva.

The event will be livestreamed on 13 January at 16:00 Rīga time (GMT+2) on STRATCOMCOE's Facebook and YouTube channels.
