Latvian statistics yearbook published

The Central Statistical Office (CSB) has published its annual data collection "Statistical Yearbook of Latvia, 2023", which is now available in digital format free of charge.

The yearbook was created by selecting the most important data available in the CSB database , supplemented with data visualizations in the form of thematic maps and graphs, and is always a rich source of material for reseachers, academics, policymakers and old-fashioned people who are interested in basing their opinions on facts rather than prejudice or wishful thinking.

Four new thematic maps have been published in the yearbook. In the natural resources section, maps of the main types of forests, their dominant species and their age are published based on the data of the State Forest Service. The economy and finance section includes a new map of gross domestic product per capita in administrative territories.

In the 76th yearbook since 1921 the publication has 11 thematic sections: geographical characteristics, population, labor market, social security and health, education, science and culture, economy and finance, foreign trade of goods, entrepreneurship, information technology, industries, as well as Latvia's social and economic indicators compared to other countries.

Statistical data available to CSB and other institutions, surveys conducted by CSB, as well as data from state registers and other information systems were used in the preparation of the yearbook.

The new publication reflects the data for 2022 compared to previous years. The statistical yearbook in both Latvian and English is the largest of all statistical publications issued by CSB in terms of content.
