The main prize was received by Liene Pušpura for the Cēsis municipality property "Sildibenes". Kristīna Sprūdža, owner of the property "Krūmiņi" in Cēsis municipality, Agnis Graudulis with "Rūķmuiža" property in Saldus municipality, and farm "Gaismas" owner Juris Plivda in Preiļi municipality were also awarded.
12 jury members participated in determining the winner of the competition – natural and forest researchers, farmers, foresters, biologists, and representatives of other sectors.
This year's competition received 19 applications from the districts of Kuldīga, Saldus, Talsi, Krāslava, Preiļi, Ludza, Madona, Ādaži, Valmiera, Saulkrasti, Cēsis, and Ogre.
The contestants were evaluated by analyzing the contribution of forest owners to the creation of productive and sustainable forest stands, focusing on restoration, logging, care, forest infrastructure, landscape element planning, the use of scientifically based methods for sustainable forest management. Feedback from the local government on the specific forest property was also requested.
The aim of the competition is to identify good forestry practices in private forests and to promote sustainable forest management.
