Chill out with the sounds of Latvian nature

Take note – story published 4 years and 6 months ago

If coronavirus lockdown and the numerous other stressful situations of the modern world are getting on top of you, a rural district of Latvia is offering an hour's escape.

Amatas municipality, 80 km from Rīga takes its name from the picturesque River Amata which winds through its territory. Walking, fishing and canoeing are all popular recreations on the river, but now even if you can't make it in person, you can stick on a pair of headphones and bask in the sounds of the fast-flowing River Amata for a full hour.

Ideal for drowning out the sound of police sirens and noisy neighbors.

If you listen right until the end you might even hear a fisherman catching a fish.
