By Easter, a total of about 7000 plants have been planted in Riga center. More and more permanent plants are also planned to be used in the city. Meanwhile, more than 50,000 flowers are planned to be planted by summer.
In the second half of May, sunflowers will blossom in Victory Park as a symbol of the support for the freedom of Ukraine.
“We started planting the first flowers last week. The first were pansy violets. [..] Then we plant blue and white pansies and buttercups around the canal and the embankment. We are also planting at the Freedom Monument. In these beds, pansies and forget-me-nots will be welcomed,” said Agnese Korbe, spokeswoman for Riga Forests.
