Of the newly-confirmed cases, 4,354 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 7,245 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 26,506 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 43.7% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population hit another record high, rising from 6,443 Wednesday to 6,576 Thursday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 488,329 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.
For a fourth day in a row, nine Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the victims were aged over 50 years. Five of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 4,987.
The number of patients being treated in hospital rose slightly from 1,100 Wednesday to 1,104 Thursday. Thursday data from the National Health Service show 153 patients were admitted and 129 discharged during the previous 24 hours. 74 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
