Of 11,595 newly-confirmed cases, 4,302 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 7,293 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 26,943 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 43% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population hit another all-time high, rising from 7,019 Wednesday to 7,112 Thursday. Since the beginning of the pandemic 556,891 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Unfortunately, 12 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All victims were aged over 50 years. Five of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,073.
Wednesday hospital data from the National Health Service show exactly 1,200 patients being treated in hospitals (up on 1,197 on Tuesday). 154 patients were admitted and 160 discharged during the previous 24 hours. 70 patients were displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
