Autumn epidemiological measures in brief

Take note – story published 2 years ago

On September 28, the Cabinet of Ministers approved autumn safety measures to limit the spread of Covid-19. Here is a brief summary of the main points to bear in mind.

  • Until and including October 10, the current regulations remain in force.
  • Events and services will be graded 'green', 'yellow' or 'red'. Green is considered safe, yellow is considered semi-safe and red is considered unsafe or unknown.
  • Almost all indoor services will require a Covid-19 certificate from October 11.
  • Indoor services will include catering, cultural and entertainment activities, exhibitions, accommodation, beauty and wellness services, museums, libraries, sports and amateur activities and education services.
  • Also in the workplace, face-to-face work will have to be organized in a safe or semi-safe environment "as much as possible".
  • In the red environment (where it is not possible to find out the vaccination status of a person or it is witheld) only basic services will be provided, such as public transport, postal services, religious events, as well as basic civil rights - private assembly, participation in peaceful pickets, etc.
  • Children under the age of 12 will not need certificates to be included in 'green' events and services.
  • Minors aged 12 and above will need either a certificate (if vaccinated or recovered) or a Covid test from the previous 72 hours from a laboratory or school screening test to participate in 'green' or 'yellow' events and services.
  • More rapid antigen tests will be made available given the likelihood that demand for tests will increase under the new rules. Not only laboratories but also all medical staff will be able to perform them and certificates will be issued immediately.
  • The existing advice relating to keeping a 2 meter distance, masks, ventilation, hand hygiene etc. continue to apply to all service providers, and continue to be urged on the public.

The above list is not exhaustive and more details will be given in due course.
