According to Pavļuts, at the end of April and beginning of May there will be a large supply of vaccines in Latvia. It is planned that the final priority groups will open on April 30, whereas starting the second week of May, the general population will also be able to get jabs.
“There is no need for a separate government decision on this, it will be my order. Indicatively, such a decision is expected to be taken no later than May 10,” the minister said.
The government agreed that all interested people would be able to apply for vaccination time and place on manavakcina.lv as of May 3.
"On April 30, let us launch the seventh and eighth priority groups, sector critical workers and risk-prone staff. By launching the vaccination of these groups, we can move towards the vaccination of the whole population, not in August, July or June, as previously said, but in fact from the second week of May,” said the minister.
The minister explained that from next week the large vaccination centers in Latvia will operate at full capacity “every day at all times.”
