Vaccination pace slowed down last week in Latvia

Last week, an average of 8,683 people per day were vaccinated, less than a week earlier, when on average 10,256 people per day were vaccinated, according to data from the National Health Service reported by LETA on January 17.

Last weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, 5,111 people received the vaccine against Covid-19, the majority of which (4,371) received a booster vaccine. All of these data may still change as many vaccination authorities enter data in systems with several days' lag.

According to LETA's estimates, 70.54% of the population have received one vaccine against Covid-19 so far, while 67.88% have concluded the vaccination process. 19.53% of all population or 28.77% of those vaccinated have the booster.

According to a tweet by Health Minister Daniels Pavļuts, 80.00% of the population aged 12 and over have started vaccination and 77.28% have finished it, while 70.13% of the total population have started vaccination and 67.49% have finished it.

More than 5,000 children aged five to 11 years have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Latvia. 5,172 children of this age have received one dose of vaccine, while 270 children have completed the vaccination process.
