Lufthansa flights to Riga Airport cancelled on Wednesday

Due to a pilot strike, all flights of German airline Lufthansa to the Riga International Airport will be cancelled on Wednesday, according to the airport's website, announced the BNS newswire.

Passengers are kindly requested to contact the airline, the airport said.

Lufthansa pilots are expected to be on strike on Tuesday and Wednesday. The main striking issue has been over raising the age at which Lufthansa pilots can take early retirement.

According to information on the airport's website, Lufthansa is flying to Frankfurt, Germany from Riga Airport.

Two flights had been planned on Wednesday -- Riga-Frankfurt and back.
