Nitiss wins European Rallycross Championship for Supercar

Latvia's Reinis Nitiss (Set Promotion team) on Sunday won the 2018 FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar, while Sweden's Johan Kristoffersson won the World RX of Latvia in the ninth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, which took place at Bikernieki Racetrack in Riga.

At the fifth stage of the European Championship yesterday, Nitiss already won the title when he qualified for the semifinals. He though went on to win the semifinals and the final race. Cyril Raymond (France) finished second yesterday and Anton Marklund (Sweden) was third.

After the final stage of European Rallycross Championship yesterday, Nitiss has 135 points, Marklund placed second with 101 points and Raymond third with 100 points.

In the Latvian event of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Kristoffersson was yesterday followed by Mattias Ekstrom in second place and Sebastien Loeb in third.

Latvia's Janis Baumanis (STARD team) failed to qualify for the semifinals, finishing the race in 14th place.

After the Riga stage of World Rallycross Championship, Kristoffersson is in first place with 254 points, Ekstrom is second with 179 points and Norway's Andreas Bakkerud is in third place with 179 points. Baumanis is currently tenth place with 71 points.
