Police invite all to open door day

Latvia's police will be opening up to the public on October 10 with an invitation to the public to visit them on "open door day"

From 10 a.m. on October 10, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the State Police's main headquarters in Čiekurkalns and find out about the lives of modern-day police officers.

Staff will be on hand to give demonstrations and answer questions about police work and their reasons for joining the force.

Visitors will also be able to look at exhibits in the police museum, take a photo with police dogs and police horses and check out the service's latest vehicles.

Anyone interested in attending the police open day is invited to apply in advance by sending an application e-mail to [email protected]

More details are available at the police's Facebook page.
