In the cyclone system that brought a devastating storm to northern France and southern Britain on Thursday, separate smaller cyclones continue to form, bringing strong winds. However, no major disasters are expected in our region.
Southeast winds will blow overnight into Saturday, with gusts reaching 13-18 meters per second. During the day, it will be replaced by southern and southwestern wind, which will continue to intensify to 15-20 meters per second, on the coast to 21-25 meters per second.
Such winds can bring minor damage, however, given that stronger winds have blown in Latvia this autumn and trees have lost most foliage already, not many trees should break.
On Saturday, both night and day throughout Latvia, it will rain at times, with temperatures night and day at +6. C to +12 C.
On Sunday, the wind will calm down, some rain is expected only in places, and occasionally the sun will shine. Minimum temperature at night +1 C to +6 C, maximum in the afternoon +6 C to +11 C.
There will be no major change in weather next week, rain is often expected, with gusty winds on some days. Persistent frost and snow are not expected until at least mid-month.
