Weekend weather expected to be pleasant

During the weekend, cool mornings are expected in Latvia, but the afternoons will be warm, according to latest forecasts.

Saturday's early morning will be particularly cold, when the air temperature will drop to from +4 to +9 degrees Celsius, and in some places in the east of the country it could be cooler still at only +2 C or +3 C with the possibility of frost. The days will be sunny though, the wind will be slow and the air will warm up to +17 C to +21 C.

Saturday night and Sunday morning will not be quite as cold as the day before and during the day on Sunday, southerly winds will be replaced by more gusty northwesterly winds, starting from Kurzeme. Cloud cover will increase, and in places in the north of Kurzeme and Vidzeme, a little rain is possible. The air temperature will rise, reaching +19 to +23 C degrees inland, but will be a few degrees cooler along the coast.

On Monday, the air temperature will still be in the range of +15 to +20 degrees Celsius, while on Tuesday, a warmer air mass will temporarily flow in and the temperature will rise further to give a late summer feel, reaching even as high as 25 C or 26 C in places in Zemgale and around Rīga.

During the rest of next week the weather will remain generally warm, the nights will not be so cold, but the wind from the south and west will become gusty. Rain showers are also likely.
