Sunday will be the hottest day of the month in Latvia, but in the afternoon thunderstorms will be raging, according to forecasts.

The maximum air temperature will be +27 C to +32 C. Clouds will rise from the west of the country. In the afternoon, in Kurzeme and in many places in the central part of Latvia, it will be raining temporarily, with strong thunderstorms, as well as hail.

A moderate south-east wind will blow, with gusts of 9-14 meters per second. As cooler air flows from the west, there will be gusts of up to 18 meters per second, but there may be a much stronger wind under the storm.

A small amount of clouds is expected in Riga Sunday, in the afternoon it will increase, and in the evening there will be a temporary rainstorm, which means not only heavy rain but also the risk of hail and storms. The air temp will reach +31 C.

On Monday, the air temperature will still climb to +28 degrees, but not above +23 degrees in the coming days of July, according to current weather forecasts.
