The thunderstorms will be localized and will not affect the whole region, but will form in places in Kurzeme and Zemgale. In some places, thunderstorms may bring heavy downpours, heavy hail, and strong wind gusts of up to 20-22 meters per second, damaging trees, breaking branches and light structures.
Drivers should be aware that during thunderstorms visibility may be impaired and aquaplaning may occur.
It is safest to take shelter indoors when a thunderstorm is approaching.
