No hope for warmer weather before Easter in Latvia

The cold spell in Latvia will last at least until Easter, according to forecasts by weatherman Toms Bricis.

On the night to Thursday, the whole country will get some snowfall. The air temperature will range from -8 C in the east of the country to around zero in Kurzeme.

There will be rainfall and wet snow on Thursday, and air temperatures will range between +1 C and +7 C in the afternoon.

It will get a little warmer on Friday, temperatures will reach +6 C to +11 C in the afternoon, slightly cooler on the seaside and in the very east of the country.

A rush of north winds over the weekend will make it cooler again, at nights mostly -5 C to 0, during the day 0 to +5 C.

The temperatures will remain similar in the next working week, but there will be little rainfall. Current forecasts show temperatures will tend to rise slowly during the Easter holiday.
