Heavy snow to hit Latvia

Intense snowfall is expected to hit Latvia in the next several days, with a blanket of snow to cover the country, plus the weather to get very cold starting Sunday, reports LSM.

On Wednesday night heavy snow is to hit the eastern regions of the country, while on the night to Friday a small but active cyclone is to hit Latvia bringing snowstorms and hasty wind.

A snow cover 5 to 10 cm deep is to be cast over Latvia on Friday morning. While the weekend is to be less snowy, the fallen snow is not expected to melt.

Until Saturday temperatures of -1..+4C are in the forecast, dropping to -5C on Sunday night.

Forecasts say the next week will be cold and central and eastern regions of the country will be covered in snow.
