On Tuesday, long and at times heavy rain with thunderstorms will prevail. The total amount of rainfall for places in the eastern and central parts of the country will be around 30 millimeters, so there will be possible flooding of road infrastructure and water levels in rivers will rise.
A strong north wind will also blow on Tuesday, gusting 12-17 meters per second, and in places on the coast around 20 meters per second.
During the rest of the week, there will be rain every day but the sun will also shine often. Air temperatures in the afternoons will range mostly between +17 C and +23 C, warmer on Tuesday in Vidzeme, but cooler on Saturday, when the temperature will be within +15 C and +20 C.
A major heat wave is expected in Western Europe over the weekend and early next week, there is a possibility that hot air masses will also temporarily hit Latvia in the middle of next week.
