Have a Rothko Christmas in Daugavpils

Take note – story published 2 years ago

All day on Saturday 25 December and Sunday 26 December, admission to Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center will be available at a discount.

"Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center suggests boosting your Christmas with a rich cultural experience that includes the work of brilliant Latvian artists (a graphic retrospective “Road to the Sea” from Ilze Lībiete and paintings from Jānis Kupčs) and prominent international creators (Daniel Fuchs, Germany, with his solo show “Creation” and Elissa Marchal, France, with her exhibition “The Space Between”) along with an impressive retrospective show of Michael Kidner, a classic of British 20th-century art, called “Love is a Virus from Outer Space”," says the Center.

And, of course, visitors can still see several Mark Rothko originals and “Found in the Collection” – a special exhibition highlighting the Rothko Center’s finest acquisitions over the years.

Throughout the day on 25 and 26 December, admission to the centre is available at a discount price – 6.00 EUR for regular visitors, 3.00 EUR for pupils, students and senior citizens. Besides that, everyone can enjoy a free-of-charge open-air exhibition in the Rothko Center courtyard, “Talk to Me” by the Ceramic Association of Latvia, and several public art objects across Daugavpils Fortress.
