During the Berlin Film Festival, it was agreed that the Ukrainian film industry support Fund “European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films”, which was co-founded by European film institutions just over a year ago, would continue to operate in 2024. The founding countries of the Fund include France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Norway, and other countries, including Lithuania and Estonia; four other countries have joined the fund this year, including Latvia and Spain.
The European Solidarity Fund brings together Member States' forces in targeted support for Ukraine's film industry by launching two financial support tenders within a year for the development and completion of film projects; in 2023, 29 Ukrainian film projects were supported in these competitions.
Detailed information on the competition and projects supported in the 2023 tenders can be found on the website of the Foundation.
