An online resource is now available at the Google Cultural Institute that gives a fascinating glimpse into life in Riga at the end of the nineteenth and start of the twentieth centuries.
Titled "My, you, our Riga," the website features materials from numerous official archives and is lavishly presented through photographs, maps, graphs and text.
It is well worth a look for anyone interested in the Latvian capital's period of rapid expansion and its unique cultural mix at the time.
