A “Little Light” for a little inspiration

Several members of Latvian groups, such as “Brainstorm” singer Renārs Kaupers, "The Sound Poets" singer Jānis Aišpurs and many others have dedicated their rendition of the song "Gaismiņ, teci man pa priekšu" (“Little Light, Go Ahead of Me”) to a four-year-old girl named Amēlija from Brukna, who is fighting a serious illness, according to Kaupers on April 15.

“During these times we filmed a sort of self-isolation video version of “Little Light” with the idea that we could cheer up little Amēlija, because her birthday is in April,” said Kaupers.

The girl's relatives contacted Kaupers several weeks ago asking him if he could film a greeting for Amēlija, or play a song fragment. He contacted Aišpurs and they composed the song together. After that they took the idea about filming the song to their friends and musicians, who were more than happy to participate.

“And we dedicate this song to her. Of course to everyone who needs a little more little light and some sort of cheering up during these times. We hope that this song will provide additional inspiration,” said the Brainstorm musician.
