Take note – story published 9 years ago

Singer Aminata won the Latvian final of this year's Eurovision song contest Sunday night, meaning she will represent the country in May's Eurovision semi-final - and hopefully the grand final after that.

In a night notable for a number of star turns, not least of which came from a six foot tall rapping beaver, Aminata won the public telephone vote comfortably from second placed Markus Riva with Elektro Folk in third and MNTHA in fourth spot.

LTV's coverage won much praise on social media networks too, with Eurovision aficionados around the globe saying Latvia's was one of the most entertaining national finals.
